Thinking about joining?

The Old lab is made up of scientists with diverse backgrounds and interests that share the common goal to understand the complexity of intra- and intercellular interactions using cutting edge mass spectrometry techniques. We have a highly successful track record of developing creative technologies and solutions through our interdisciplinary collaborations.

We invite applications from talented and motivated postdoctoral candidates with relevant experience in proteomics/metabolomics, biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, computational biology, and related fields. Please send the following to William Old at William.Old@colorado.edu:

  • A cover letter that describes your past research experience and motivation for applying to the Old lab.
  • A brief (less than 1 page) description of proposed research for your postdoc.
  • PDFs of all published papers and pre-prints.
  • 3 letters of recommendation to be sent directly from the letter-writers.

Ph.D. students

Candidates for graduate study should apply either through the Department of Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology (MCDB) or the IQ Biology program. These programs require graduate students to rotate through multiple labs in their first year, providing a diversity of research experiences prior to selecting a lab.  For application information and more details about the graduate programs, visit the MCDB website.
